I disagree; route-maps/ other methods must always be used to ensure the
"exactness" of the network. CCIE means that you are aware of the issues
that can arise and should always safeguard against them.

I'll suggest to keep it simple. Use route-map only if it is required.
Follow the instructions in the lab. If asked to redistribute eigrp to
ospf just do simple redistribution.
