It only makes sense that they will provide you with such info.
I think you are getting too worried about unnecessary details.

When one or more voice ports need to be configured in the lab, we have to
know for the 2600 the following info:

Router(config)# voice-port slot/subunit/port

Does Cisco tell us what "slot/subunit/port" to use or do we need to use a
show
command to figure that out? What show command can be used to determine the
above info?
