RE: OSPF SPF Timers

I just thought about this some more. I'm thinking that the hello-interval
being so low also falls in line with "ospf converging within 5 seconds in
the event of a topology change". Changing the hello interval also increases
the dead time to 4 seconds (less than 5 seconds). This has to be it. (I
think).

Subject: OSPF SPF Timers

Hey, Fellas. I'm doing a lab and the requirement says:

"All Area 0 routers should re-converge within 5 seconds in the event of a
topology change."

I checked the final config on this one what they have is:

int e0
ip ospf hello interval 1

router ospf 1
timers spf 0 0

Are the interface command and the ospf command related. I tried looking
looking at Doyle's book and Parkhurst's book, but they don't say much. The
Doc CD says less. I understand that the SPF timer being so low will make
the router run the SPF algorithm instantly, but does the hello-interval need
to be so low?

Thanks,
Danny
