Hi guys
Wonder if anyone has done this type of work.
We need to set-up Internet access for around 100 user offices in Africa, Middle East and Indian subcontinent.
We want satellite based Internet link for all download traffic and analogue modem based multilink dialup to and ISP (for uploads). We may be lucky to obtain ISDN for uploads or even frame-relay. So we could be looking at download speed of 128kb/s - 1mb/s and with 2 modem dialup we may get around 90kb/s for uploads or better if we use ISDN or Frame-relay.
I do not know much about this type of set-up. My questions are:
1) Is there a Cisco/non-Cisco router that can handle the DVB type link to Internet and modem dialup/ISDN dialup or frame-relay link? And of course has an Ethernet link for the LAN end devices. Some firewalling function would also be nice in this device. I understand we could use Microsoft ISA server with DVB card etc but I rather get a proper routing device for this.
2) Does anyone know of any good & cheap satellite based Internet link providers in the above mentioned locations? I understand Dubai has some cheap ones?
3) How about cheap sources for obtaining the device mentioned in point 1 and the dish etc.
4) Any URL etc to read and understand the above issues would be great.
Thanks for all your help
Tim
