RE: Choosing the right workbook and bootcamp

Since I was the one one who initially spoke as saying
NetMaster was overpriced, let me explain a few issues.
First, I am sure their product is top-notch. I
learned a lot from Bruce and Val's Bridges, Routers,
and Switches book. The quality of the workbook is not
the issue, as it has gotten rave reviews. My only
comment was I would rather support a company that
still GIVES back to the CCIE community. When was the
last time a post was answered by Bruce or Val on
groupstudy? I see posts from Internetwork Expert,
IPExpert, and Hello Computers staff here all the time.
On a personal note, my coworker went to the previous
school,Mentor Tech, that was run by the NetMaster's
instructors before going under. My friend stopped his
CCIE studies to finish his Masters degree. He is now
pursuing his IE again and contacted them about getting
the workbook at the $395 price vs the $695 because it
states that former students can get the workbook at a
discount. The secretary advised that Bruce personally
refused him the discount and said the would not honor
his attendance. To me this is a little insulting
after spending $4500 to attend a class and then being
forgotten because the original company folded. I can
understand that there is "no obligation" to honor the
previous company but I still find it troubling. I
have to question their "commitment" to ensuring their
students success as one member stated here. I mean...
$395 is still a nice chunk of change, it is not like
he was asking for the book for free. However, like I
said, I am sure it is an awsome product and if you do
purchase it... buy it from groupstudy to support the
efforts here! If you guys want to flame me then do it
unicast. Good luck to all on your next and hopefully
last lab attempt! Enough said.......:)
