Cat 3550 and Cat 2950

Hi folks ;

since i am back to work again on the CCIE voice track ..im in the process of building my voice home lab ..when i passed the R&S the cat was 5k.

now iam not sure if 3550 and the 2950/2955 are equivlanet from the S/W point of view ..can anyone confirm this if any differences ..like what ??

so i may save some money :))
