If I'm correct here, this because it is kept in memory, so when you remove it it says, it might not remove it completely, so you need to remove the config and then reboot, now memory is dumped and it will be gone.

Nope, but you can create a different sub-if as p2mp and ignore the old
one which will go away on a reload. Make sure to delete any frame DLCIs
etc. on the sub-if you delete if you need to reuse them.
