Hi:

I used two 2516 as ISDN routers(with 14 RJ45 ethernet port and 1 BRI). The
hub is really good and convenient, though it is 10Mbps. You can connect
serveral routers easily without external hub and switch. One of the hub port
is MDI-X/MDI (A swith you can change the mode), so you can use whatever
cable (straigt-through or crossover) connecting router to switch or computer
easily.

You can config source Mac address control on the hub to limit the access.
Any port of the hub can be the ethernet port of the router. All the CLI in
hub model are same as other models, you can regard all the ports of hub as
one ethernet. Additional HUB command is added for every hub port.

Personally, I think that 2516 is better than 2503. They both have 2 serials,
ethernet, and BRI. In addition, you don't need additional AUI for ethernet.
Because not everybody know clearly about hub model 2500, their price is
cheap on ebay.

All of my 2500 routers in my home lab are hub model routers. All the c2500
12.2 software is compatible with hub model platform.

The hub model 2500s always peaked my interest. I could never find one
though. Do those hub ports have any intelligence or strictly hub ports? What
kind of commands can you even enter in config mode for them? I assume you
can debug ip packet on those ports, right?

Thanks,

Marcus
