        I think you're confusing two totally different topics. Interface speeds
are typically listed in mbit, as in megabits per second. RAM is where the
router stores it's operating system, routing tables, etc. That is measured
in megabytes. Larger IOSs with more features may need more memory, but the
speed and number of interfaces on a router have no direct impact on the
memory required. CCO has all the information you could ever want on memory
requirements and default memory configurations per platform.
