Kris,
I totally understand your feeling as I failed my first attempt two weeks
ago.
Agree with you, the lab is doable. I had two hours left and checked
everything from beginning, focusing main area igp and bgp, instead of
small topics, ( where I failed most) At the end of the day, I realised
some questions I wasn't sure, and the score result does reflect what I
suspected. But I doubt I failed badly.
The lab is fair and you do need to understand main areas well, basically
don't need to spend too much time or fell surprised when you see the
questions, I mean main topics. Then you can have enough time to tackle
the small topics or search the CD. As we all know, it is difficult to
cover every area thoroughtly within certain study time. One important
thing for studying small topics, is not just know where to find the
commands from CD, at least you should understand how cisco implements
it, I pretty much failed in well understanding, just knowing a few
commands with ? Mark is far from sufficient.
I find Netmasterclass DoIt workbook is an excellent study material. I
got the book two weeks before my first attempt and I spent one week just
reading all the answer keys, that helped me a lot and boost my exam
skill dramatically. Now I will spend more time re-doing those lab
scenarios and focus on the new features.
Won't give up so easy.
Paul

Subject: Failed the Lab at Bangalore --1 st time
Hello everybody ,
This is Kris.I am slowly recovering from the setback.I failed the lab
this saturday at Bangalore.
Though the lab was pretty much doable , I lost out because of
inefficient time management.I never had time to recheck everything
in totality.Having said that , there are certain topics in which I had
scored much less than I had expected.I am pretty sure I did
the right way.Dont know just yet what went wrong there.
I would like to thank the group members for the wonderful posts .People
like Brian Dennis,Magahan,Tim Fletcher,Donny,Alex,Mas and many others
who I may have left out.
I will continue to hang around here till the ordeal is over. Please
advise me on how to plan the lab so as to finish it in 5 1/2 to 6
hours.? Is this a realistic expectation at all ?
My suggestion to first timers .... Keep your Cool and take it easy.
I am looking at taking it again in Mid October .I live in Bangalore .So
if there are people in Bangalore/Chennai
studying for the lab ,we may form a study group ,rack together and share
thoughts.
Cheers,
Kris.
