If you are dialing into your rack remotely, then you'll need a terminal
server; but if you're working on a rack next to your computer, I'd recommend
that you install a Comtrol RocketPort on your PC to give you a window and
direct console cable to every router and switch. RocketPorts come in
8-port, 16-port, and 32-port versions (check eBay for good prices; two
8-port cards are the best value). The best software to allow you to open
multiple windows is CRT or SecureCRT from www.vandyke.com (free for 30 days,
then $35):
