I think the Wirespeed Westell is just a dsl modem. What you will need is a
router. I like the linksys. Anyways uplink the router to the modem. Then
connect a patch cable from one of the ports of the linksys router to your
termserver ethernet port. If you don't have a termserver you can buy a Cisco
508 or 516 on ebay. Just type cisco terminal server and do a search. You
don't need to buy a 2509 as the Cisco 508 and 516 are specifically used just
for a term server and are way cheaper. Record the IP address of the router
and the IP address of the termserver. I like to statically assign the
Ethernet address of the term server so it will never pick up a different one
through dhcp from the linksys router. Enable port forwarding on the linksys
router to forward port 23 traffic to the ethernet address of the termserver.

Create a default route on the termserver pointing to the ethernet address of
the linksys router

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 (ip address of linksys router)

Try telneting to the static address given to you by your ISP.

Also make sure you have telnet access enabled on your termserver.
