Agreed, but is the PC giving the switches something to update their CAM
table entries with? Try clearing the PC's arp cache between moves and then
try to communicate. Perhaps the re-ARPing will achieve the results you are
seeking (this is why so many failover mechanisms use gratuitous ARP's to
update forwarding tables when switching states).

Hello all

I am wondering about this strange behavior on a Cat4500 with SupIV.

2 Catalysts with a dot1q trunk, both have vlan 1-3.
When I disconnect a pc on switch1 from vlan 3 and then immediately connect
on
the other switch on the same vlan 3
then I have to wait the mac-address-aging until the communication works
again. I expect when I disconnect the pc from the switch the switch should
flush the cam table and then relearn it on the other!

Has somebody seen that?
