hi guys,

i found out that when using the network statement in eigrp, the wildcard as
well as the subnet formats are both acceptable since IOS will convert the
subnet format to wildcard format automatically in the running configuration
script. i don't know whether this feature is available on earlier versions
of IOS, but this is true for IOS versions 12.1(5)T and after.

to verify whether eigrp is running on which interfaces, i'll use the 'show
ip eigrp interfaces' command.

concerning the requirement, i think the answer will depend on the question
that is being asked; if the question states that i cannot use passive
interfaces in my configuration, then (2) will be the only correct answer.
since it didn't specify anything like this, both methods can be used to
satisfy the requirements stated.

lastly, 'show ip protocols' is one command i found extremely informative.

Emmett
