I've seen a variety of numbers over the past 5 years (which is how long
I have focused almost exclusively on Cisco networking). But there really
is no definitive numbers on the pass rates, to my knowledge. Cisco
simply does not publish them and realistically, any other source is just
a rumor.

I believe 20% is the overall passing number, not only who pass on first
try.

I wonder what the percentage is of people who pass on the first try?

I personally know a guy who passed on the 9th try.
(I never ask but I have to ASSUME he was not paying for the attemts out
of
pocket)
I know several who went 4 or 5 times.
I also know 4 who passed on the 1st try (3 of them the "old" two day
lab, one a
few months ago)

I think an avarage of 3 is probably correct.
