I agree, good luck to you. While it's better on your pocket and the time you have to give up to pass first time you're still a CCIE how many times it takes you.I have the same situation in that it's all done on my time at my own expense like many candidates. Everywhere I go books go with me, I even load my car with my routers when I'm working away and work in my hotel room! I have my first lab attempt later in the year and I know some very capable people take a few attempts to get through.
It took my several attempts to pass my driving test but I know I'm a better driver for it because I had to have extra tuition.
