        If you are just trying to see what the router thinks a given file's
checksum is -- try "show flash: detailed" -- checksum shows up on my 12.1
setup.

        Alternatively, if you are trying to run the MD5 approach as Tomasz
mentioned, try:

I think there was something like "/md5"in verify to check the md5
checksum for the file. This checksum is much more safe. When you
download the file you always have the md5 checksum given. Anyway I'm not
sure if this option is in every software image.
