Using DNS - no ip domain lookup

If one is tasked to configure a router to utilize DNS info for telnet and
ping commands, what is the effect of having the following for the solution:

no ip domain-lookup

ip name-server 192.168.100.253

Wouldn't the 'no ip domain-lookup' superceded the next command and keep the
router from using that DNS server?
