But, as you said, if you use mode desirable and don't specify any keyword,
silent is assumed. And, if you use the interfaces with this EC config to
form a Echannel with other pagp capable device, it works fine too. I have
an FasthEtherchannel between two 3550 with this config and it seems to work
properly, it doesn't matter if i put "silent" or "non-silent"

I don't see the difference.

such as servers. PaGP is not negotiated

By default if you don't specify non-silent with auto or desirable, then
silent
mode is used.
