Hi, Chirag,

The authentication chap has been configured correctly, I tested that no
matter callout only or callin, a one way call always success.

After the one way call test, I start test callback, and find that when "ppp
authentication chap" is configured in BRI (or dialer), it will success.

But my following test will fail:

1) ppp authentication chap in A, ppp authentication chap callout in B
This will fails if A dials to B, B no callback return
2) ppp authentication chap in A, ppp authentication chap callback in B
This will fails if A dials to B, B no callback return

It's strange the above happens, as per my understanding, callback just
means two call, one initiated from A to B first, then disconnect, and B
callbacks A, so it should be success for any format of "ppp authentication
chap" including callout and callin.

But for the ppp authentication callback, I hardly understand what it
actually means in the calling side and the callback side, have you got any
idea?

Thx,
BBD (Big Black Dog)

hi there

* ppp call in on router B means that B will authenticate A before calling
back ..............authenticate all the calls coming in B before calling
back.
*now you have to put callout on B..........this means A will have to
authenticate B when B will call back.
this means A is not to be authenticated when it call B but B will be
authenticated when it calls back.

IF I AM WRONG PLZ CLEAR ME.............GROUP

regards
chirag
