OSPF Demand Circuit on One side

Pals,
I was usually used to put the "ip opsf demand cicuit" on both sides of link. But recently, i was reading the command documentation, it prefers having it on one side ONLY.
 
I did try having it one side. But i really did't notice any difference.
 
Does anyone have comments on this topic??
