Lin and Frank,
As far as i know (Theory readings only) when you use classical ip (ARP
servers) mode you do't need to do any ip-svc mapping.
Using the ARP server all clients should be able to do ARP resolutions
for SVCs dynamically.
If my understanding is not contradicting with anything in yr scenario
then u better remvoe the SVC map command. And try without it.
Try pinging 172.16.1.2.
If it did't work then you better change the ip add. of yr ATM interface
to 192.168.1.1.
And then tyr pinging to 192.168.1.2
Or check with ATM BB administrator (if it is not yrself).
One last thing the out of the show command you are using really proofs
that the ARP server is working fine.
Waiting for yr feedback
Thanks
SAM

I've seen the state: up and normal from command "show atm ilmi-st", and
got
the prefix from the other end. but the remote end's ip add is shown
"peer
ip add 192.168.1.2".
why, what's matter? why is it not "172.16.1.2", maybe 172.16.1.2 is sec
address, is it possible? I still cannot ping the other end :(
