Well, Here is the problem that I see,
If you look at the Cisco web site, it will say it provide documentation at
the LAB which includes Doc CD.
So we span hours and hours to trying to get the exact path to certain
information on the CD or reference to the commands.

Well, if Cisco says, there are no DOC CD in the first, may be I do not have
to waste my time.
I don't know about you, time is very important, and I can't believe I am
wasting my time writing this.

-- Cisco should either change the web content or give out the real DOC CD in
the lab.

--- and My other e-mail only pertain to folks who feel like this need to be
fixed. If you don't feel that this is unfair,
then you can ignore it. keep your opinion to yourself.

I prefer to say something in the comment section and I will put in my own
opinions as I see it.

Thank you

I guess this can be argued from either perspective. On the one hand in "real
world" situations you have all of CCO available but on the other hand rather
than bitching about whats different or NOT included on the doc Cd in the
CCIE lab you should be GRATEFUL for what it does include and that you have
any resource other than your knowledge. I guess there will always be people
who are grateful for what they do get and there will always be people who
complain about what they don't or didn't get.

When you fill out the comments back to Cisco after the lab,
Just make sure you put in your comments about Doc CD.
And How unfair it is that we have to span hours and hours looking at DOC CD
and find out its not the same, once you go into the lab.

I noticed the same thing. The CD in the lab does appear to have much less
information compared to CCO. The only thing that was useful was the command
reference. Still be familiar where things are located to minimize the time
spent searching on the CD.

One recommendation,,

Do not rely on the Doc CD in the LAB.

Its not the same as one you got,

Its modified version,

I been complain to Cisco about this,
I think Cisco should make the Doc CD same as one that we are using.

SO,, Do not rely on Doc CD, I found that its just waste of time to look for
the stuff and you can find it, and end up loosing valuable hours.

Subject: Documentation CD

Hi Group,

As many people on this forum have recommended, when there's something I
don't know, I try to find it on the Doc CD. (The one I'm using is dated
October 2000 and covers up to IOS ver 12.1).

Very often, though, I can't find the command or particular info I'm looking
for. However, if I go online and look under the config and command guides
for version 12.1, I usually find what I'm looking for.

Here's an example to illustrate what I'm talking about:

A practice lab I'm doing on RIP says to configure a low end router to hold
triple the updates in it's queue as normal. I've never heard of this so I
check the Doc CD and find nothing under ver 12.1 of the config guide or in
the command reference.

I then go online and do the same search on cco under ver 12.1 and BAMM -
there it is, the input-queue command.

What's going on here? Why is it that I can find things online but not on
the Doc CD? Is the CD I'm using abridged or something? Have others noticed
this same discrepancy? And, is there anything I can do about this? Most
importantly, will the Doc CD used in the lab have the same flaws and
discrepancies I'm seeing now?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. thanks, Raj
