Reliability is calculated by summing up all received and transmitted
packets and dividing the sum by the total number of input and output
errors. A CRC error falls into the category of an input error.
As a disclaimer I didn't write the question but I am affiliated with
IPexpert ;-)

That's the question - verbatim from IPExpert. You would have to go back
to
IPExpert and ask them to better describe their own question.
And I agree with Brennan, I don't see how CRCs will effect the
reliability
metric. Can anyone provide a link from CCO describing exactly how the
reliability metric is calculated? I can understand if the metric is
based
off of circuit bounces but CRCs don't necessarily mean the circuit has
bounced.

Can someone "translate" the question below
into plainer english? I'm interested in
this topic but I suspect I don't completely
follow how the CRCs are supposed to factor
into EIGRP...obviously yes, I know the metric
includes reliability...
can someone ask the question a different way
to make it clearer?

Subject: EIGRP and ATM CRCs
Hello all,
Found this question on the sample exam from IPExperts and I can't figure
out
the answer. Any clues??
http://www.ipexpert.net/products/itemdetail.asp?SKU=ip0001
"It has seen lots of time that ATM interface generates CRC errors.
Configure EIGRP such upon getting such errors on any particular router
will
automatically reflect to EIGRP toplolgy of all routers in EIGRP AS."
TIA,
Sean
