RE: Dialer load-threshold question

The calculation is not based on the bandwidth but the load ( 1-255).
The max is 255

32K is 50% of 64K
and 50% of 255 = 128

Cheers,
RAM

Ram

I believed the load-threshold specifies at what load the 2nd "B" channel is
engaged. An answer of 128 in that case wouldn't make sense.

In other words, if the incoming or outgoing load becomes greater that XXX,
then being up the 2nd "B" channel.

Since only one "B" channel is engaged at first, the greatest load in one
direction can only be 64K. It will never reach 128K.

This should be the same as when we specify a dialer load threshold of 1 to
get the 2nd "B" channel to come up right away --- only in this case, we're
waiting until the load reaches 32K!!!

It is 128.

Subject: Dialer load-threshold question

Hi, Guys:
If a question states: Bring up both B if the traffic exceed 32k on any
direction.
Which one is the correct answer?
dialer load-threshold 64 either
or dialer load-threshold 128 either

I think the second one is correct but nearly all books give me the first
one. Do we need to calculate the load based on 2B?

Thanks
Jim
