Thanks, I was thinking about the MSFC2. But I guess some of those will work
on the 128mb. I guess most MSFC2s come with 256 mb ram, so the
documentation is a little sketchy about the memory required for the 128mb
ones.

This may depend on the model of sup and msfc. A SUP1/MSFC1 will run fine on
128MB.

You are correct, a 6500 switch running IOS is Native Mode and a switch
running CatOS with MSFCs running IOS is hybrid mode.
You can route vlans with either mode.
Do you still need to purchase the extra license for Native IOS? It used to
be around $2000.
