Hi,
Has anybody ever tried to enable frame relay payload compression or tcp header compression over a
provider MPLS cloud? My first impression was that this would be possible because they are essentially
tunneling my traffic to the end destination and really don't look into the frame packet as long as the IP header
is intact.I am currently utilizing 64K frame circuits at my remote sites and would benefit from either of these
techniques. Currently Cisco is telling me that compression will have to be enabled on all of my providers routers
(end-to-end) for this to work (will never happen:). I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this either with
AT&T (IPFR) or MCI using their mpls solutions and has success. MPLS is a little different than traditional frame
with using this type technology. I can't use frame map (all dlci's are the same number) statements and the "passive"
keyword for tcp header compression doesn't seem to work. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
