If I understand your question, the following should help.
The following line will cause the router to buffer the log locally:
logging buffered 16384 debugging
(16384 is the buffer size, I normally use larger than this, debugging is
the logging level I wish to see, debugging means everything is logged, and
is the default)
You can also add:
service timestamps log [ several options here ]
to specify timestamps for the log messages, I use:
datetime msec localtime show-timezone
as the options, but that assumes that your clock is sync'd or at least set.
Lastly you may wish to investigate the following commands:
logging trap debugging
logging facility local4
logging A.B.C.D
