Interesting - thanks for sharing that experience. Was it the same exact
version of new boot ROM that was used to replace the old one?
Even it was the same ROMs, simply removing them and replacing them may
solve the problem. How? It is possible (but rare) that a socketed IC
(integrated circuit) can build up enough oxidation between one or more
IC pins and the socket to cause intermittent contact problems.
