Hi,
It seems to me that functionally, a SVI on the 3550 is exactly the same as the
BVI one would use on a router if it were doing IRB.
Besides the name, is there any other difference?

me. It was Cisco's idea to put the 3550 in the lab, not mine I was perfectly
content with the Cat 5000.
