Strange Legacy DDR vs Dialer ISDN behavior.

Hello everyone.

I have a 2610 with WIC-1B-U and a 1750 with WIC-1B-U. I configured them
pretty much identically.

If they are configured in legacy DDR mode, the 1750 can call (via ping
to remote IP) to the 2610 successfully 100% of the time. OK, that test
is good. The 2610 on the other hand will simply bring up the interface,
get through the authentication but never pass L3 (IP) traffic. No
pings. I can see that PPP IPCP and CDPCP are up and running so this
means I got through the PPP negotiation.

But if the connection is initiated by the 1750 I can ping both ways all
day long.

But what really bugs the daylights out of me is if I convert to dialer
profiles (dialer pool-member) it works 100% in both directions. Does
anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening?

Here are the snippets from both routers. They really are mirror images

This is the 1750:

interface BRI0
 ip address 10.168.20.246 255.255.255.252

dialer map ip 10.168.20.245 name R2-TermServ broadcast 8358661
dialer map ip 10.168.20.245 name R2-TermServ broadcast 8358662
 dialer load-threshold 50 either
 dialer-group 1
 isdn switch-type basic-ni
 isdn spid1 0835866201 8358662
 isdn spid2 0835866401 8358664
