Jonathan,

The 3550 with EMI software has no "management interface". It can be managed
from any of its layer 3 interfaces, just like a router in this sense. The
switch monitors all VLANs for which it has a layer 3 interface. You can
telnet to the device on any of these layer 3 addresses, and SNMP, NTP and
TACACS+ can be sourced from any of them.
