ISIS command

Hi friends,

Can someone please tell me what is the purpose for "clns routing" global
configuration command for ISIS?

I setup 5 routers in my home lab using ISIS, and I get IP connectivity throughout
the entire network without using this command...

According to TCP/IP Vol 1 (Solie), it says this command should be automatically
entered by IOS when ISIS is enabled, yet it is not in my router's configs
anywhere...

N.B:- I'm using IOS 12.2(12a)
