Ensure that ilmi and qsaal is OK.
So far I need not set the selector byte to specific "bytes".
Ilmi is impt, verify with show atm ilmi-status.
Sample configuration I have bet 2 routers R14 and R8: --
For Cisco Router 14
!
interface ATM4/0/0
ip address 14.14.14.14 255.255.255.0
atm esi-address 444444444444.44
atm ilmi-keepalive
atm ilmi-pvc-discovery
atm arp-server self
pvc 0/5 qsaal
!
pvc 0/16 ilmi
!
!
R14#sh atm ilmi-status
Interface : ATM4/0/0 Interface Type : Private UNI (User-side)
ILMI VCC : (0, 16) ILMI Keepalive : Enabled/Up (5 Sec 4 Retries)
ILMI State: UpAndNormal
Peer IP Addr: 0.0.0.0
Peer MaxVPIbits: 5 Peer MaxVCIbits: 7 --? these values are
learnt via ilmi
Active Prefix(s) :
39.0348.8001.bc90.0001.0175.df00 -------?Make sure the network prefix is
collected via ilmi.
End-System Registered Address(s) :
