Can anybody explain what DNIS in reference to incoming call through ISDN?

I'm I reading this correct, to say that all calls coming in VOIP through a DDR
ISDN interface must be mapped to POTS dial peer with the command
incoming called-number 5671212 under the dial-peer voice 100 voip sub mode.
*it says for non-ISDN voice ports, a POTS dial peer is assigned as soon as the
voice port is seized, which is before the router can collect the digits of the
called the number.

Also, says You can only select an inbound POTS dial peer based on the called
party number DNIS (I really wish I knew what DNIS means) when the call
arrives.

Thanks,
Rick
