those are the usual tools used for doing filtering.

there could be cases where you can filter on redistribution in by matching
external routes for example with the redistribute cli.

yes but what you are leading towards is taking away all the available tools
and asking you to complete the task. If you end up thinking this, then
perhaps reread the question, as a method (conventional or not) should/will
exist to complete the task. Think outside the square, but don't over
complicate what is being asked.
