        This is true assuming that the remote router is connected to the
same ATM switch that your local router is. The switch prefix that you
get from the ATM switch through ILMI is basically like the MAC address
of that switch. The switch prefix, along with your ESI address, forms
your complete unique NSAP address. Each switch, however, has a unique
switch prefix. Therefore if the remote router is connected to a
different switch, this method will not work.
