Im trying to setup a commserver for my lab rack. Been playing with
this XYPLEX TS-720 for a few days. Searched the internet for canned
configs and also mined the groupstudy archives.
The good news is that I can telnet to my routers now. In other words
the tcp/ip port to console port functionality works. The thing that is
getting me is that when I do a show config or show run, the middle lines
of my config are not being transmitted. I believe it's just a port
overrun from the router console port to the commserver serial port.
I've posted examples below, and also some show port listings.
Funny thing is that the Cat 5002 doesn't have this problem, it waits for
return to be pressed before the next config page is shown. All the
routers thought, only show the first ten lines of the config, then the
last few lines of the config. It's like the serial port is issuing line
returns and blowing pass the middle of the configs.

(Here's a sample of the 5002 on port 1)
#vlan 71
set spantree enable 71
set spantree fwddelay 15 71
set spantree hello 2 71
set spantree maxage 20 71
set spantree priority 32768 71
#vlan 72
set spantree enable 72
set spantree fwddelay 15 72
set spantree hello 2 72
set spantree maxage 20 72
set spantree priority 32768 72
#vlan 73
set spantree enable 73
set spantree fwddelay 15 73
set spantree hello 2 73
set spantree maxage 20 73
set spantree priority 32768 73
#vlan 80
set spantree enable 80
set spantree fwddelay 15 80
set spantree hello 2 80
set spantree maxage 20 80

(Notice the more prompt, which works correctly.)

Here's a sample of the 1602 on port 2
I#show run
Building configuration...

no service timestamps log uptime

ip subnet-zero
ip tcp synwait-time 5
no ip domain-lookup
I#
(Notice no more prompt, and the middle of the config is missing)
(Now if I filter the config, I can see some of the lines I'm missing)
I#show run | i interface
interface Loopback0
interface Ethernet0
interface Serial0
interface Serial1
alias subinterface x exit
alias interface x exit
alias exec s show ip interface brief | e unass
(Hence, the lines are there, they just are never making it to my tcp/ip
terminal.)

Here's the port listings. I'm thinking I'm just missing something
simple.

That's about it.
Thanks for your Time in advance.
I'll try anything. I need to get this working in order to have a remote
lab study partner for my next lab attempt.
