On the issue of AUX ports, what cable would one need to connect two
routers back to back via the AUX ports. I saw a network diagram the
other day witht his and have been curious about it?

assuming dialer profiles.. also is there a minimum IOS needed for v.92 ?
I thought I read somewhere it was in the 12.2 range ... I have 12.0 I
believe. If this is the case will my IOS work at all ??

A standard USR modem is typically async. You can use the AUX port for
this, it's a fun exercise in terms of obscure configurations. You may
also be able to use a regular serial port with the correct (expensive)
cable if the serial port can be configured async.

v.92 is a function of the modem, not the serial port or the router. The
only time this would be IOS-specific would be for Cisco kit with
built-in
modems such as Cisco RAS servers. Async dialout over AUX lines has been
around for a long time, at least since 11.3, probably much earlier.
