G means globalized. The original 7960 has English words
stenciled for the buttons. The G version has icons only.
[There is an English overlay that comes with the G series
phones, so they are similar when it is used but not exact.]

You need to order the G phones if you want to get them any
time soon. The last I heard was that the original 7960 had
a long lead time. I believe Cisco will not be making these
in the future.
