I didn't see it in 12.2 docs, but take a look at this in the 12.1 docs:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121sup/121se
ms/emdaaaa.htm#xtocid7

It's listed under %AMDP2_FE-3-OVERFLO. Is it possible that the NIC is
getting hammered? Is this plugged into a switch or a hub? What else is on
that VLAN/Collision domain?

Floks,

Has anyone run into this problem before and what did you do to fix it:

Nov 13 13:00:45 MST: %AMDP2_FE-3-RXOVERFLO: FastEthernet0/0 Rx FIFO Overflow
Nov 13 13:00:50 MST: %AMDP2_FE-3-RXOVERFLO: FastEthernet0/0 Rx FIFO Overflow
Nov 13 13:00:55 MST: %AMDP2_FE-3-RXOVERFLO: FastEthernet0/0 Rx FIFO Overflow

I am getting this on a 3640. Its running 12.2(8)T5 code. This seems to be
buffering issue on the FE as it is recieving packets quicker then the router
can process, so packets are being dropped. This also bounces the interface.

Anyone experienced this before and what fixed it. I am suspecting some lab
gateway ACL not setup correctly and so there's all kinds of invalid traffic
hitting the FE.

thanks,
Jay
