I'm sorry (not thinking here and getting my words
mixed up)... the remote-name is the remote-hostname.
This way the router can bind the call to the right
dialer interface. Sorry if i confused ya.
If you only have a BRI or single dialer interface you
probably won't run into problems as the router doesn't
have much to choose from. If you add some dialer
interfaces and put different IP subnets on each and
different remote-names then you'll see this in action.
PPP puts a 32-bit host route entry in the table so
even you got binded to a wrong dialer things would
still work. You could disable the PPP generated host
route though.
