You need to enable it on router's LAN interface, can remember if it's
enabled by default on the Catalyst (doesn't hurt to do it anyway, its just
one command). CGMP is not necessary to get your multicast connectivity
running, but it allows switch to tune itself smoothly into new group
members, reducing LAN traffic. I think you should use it for performance
purposes.
