POD, peer on demand, is used when you don't want the peer up full time.
One example is dial-up, and another would be a slow permanent link. The
DLSW Design Guide on CCO covers it pretty well.

Subject: DLSW POD

Hi All,

I have a decent understanding of conf and prom DLSW peers, but I am not
understanding the pod peer. I don't have a lab to test netbios traffic,
but when is the pod peer used?

Thank,

Nate
