Find a business case to acquire a Catalyst 3550. The 2948G-L3 is not
comparable to a Catalyst 3550 switch. The 2948G-L3 provides only layer
3 interfaces and not support layer 2 switch ports. This means you could
not practice trunking, vlans, routed and switch ports along with many
other layer 2 concepts that are probably included in the CCIE lab.

Hope this helps.

Subject: 2948g-l3 for practice

Hello,

While I do not have access to a 3550 switch I do have 2948g-l3s handy.
Would this provide me what I will 'need' or should I find a good
business
case to acquire a 3550? :-)

Best Regards,
Tom
