RE: VoFR example in Solie book... can't make it work.

In a real life situation you would want to use VoFR when possible over VoIP
as there are less overheads involved in running across frame. That said, if
you want to be able to route around link failures in a meshed environment
you would wish to use VoIP. This is a matter of design and as with all
network choices you should list your requirements and then choose the tech
to suit. There are no hard and fast rules, however there are perhaps some
more intricacies in getting VoFR up and running than VoIP.

Hi,

I am testing VoFR, and use the same configuration as the example on page
423-431 of Solie's Practical Studies book. (besides using different Serial
interface, DLCI etc. to fit my equipment.) Below are the config and the
'csim' test... can someone find anything wrong? Thanks very much.

By the way, I am a little bit confuse. Can someone explain what is the
difference between VoFR and VoIP across a Frame Relay network? How do I
decide when should I use VoFR and when should I use VoIP arcoss a FR?

r13#
r13#csim start 1414
csim: called number = 1414, loop count = 1 ping count = 0

csim err csimDisconnected recvd DISC cid(5)
csim: loop = 1, failed = 1
csim: call attempted = 1, setup failed = 1, tone failed = 0
