If you are using the free tftp server from Cisco, that may
be your problem. I always recommend PumpKIN tftp server
from Klever. It is free and works very well. The Cisco
tftp server has a lot of issues with large file transfers.

Pumpkin also lets you monitor connections with good details
on what is happening. This may point you to what the
problem is. My guess is that you have a media problem and
you are retransmitting until it gives up.
