3550----------gigstack------------3550

as we all know when a switch is enabled for uplink fast. it increases the
cost of all ports to stay above 3000 to prevent the port becoming a root
port and we also need to disable vlan prioroty before putting a switch into
uplink fast...right,

assuming you connect two 3550 routers with a gig stack and enable gigstck
uplink fast - aka cross stack uplink fast.. now all the vlan priorities will
be reset to 0 and all port cost will be set to be more than 3000 . as there
are only two switches one of them needs t0/will become a root for all the
vlans....

what could you possible do to make switch 1 the root for all odd vlans and
switch 2 to be root for all even vlans..

isnt this intersting...

scenario-2

3550----------gigstack-------------3550
       -----------gig-trunk-----------

assuming you run a gigstack and a trunk bettwen two swithces...how will this
behave?

any ideas

cheers! sen
