- For a client test once, we used a NM-1V with a VIC-2FXS
  to simulate a quick two line PSTN connection.

  I remember that we the modem wouldn't connect at higher
  speeds (33.6K+), but it was for testing purposes only.

  Crude, but it's dialtone. . .
