This is DLSw Lite.

This is Direct Encapsulation, and requires "pass-thru" on the remote peer
statement. It used to only support endstations on token ring, but as of
12.0 *ALL* media translations are performed by all four of the encapsulation
types. "Pass-thru" indicates that you do not require the local
acknowledgements that llc2 provides. Add it and your session will reach
CONNECT.
